Meet Nero

There's a reason parents in Westmount, Outremont, and Brossard keep coming back — and keep sending their friends.

Math Tutor & Chess Coach · Founder, Nero’s Virtual Academy

100+ Students TutoredAll Grade LevelsMontreal & Online Canada

Nero Mathew started Nero's Virtual Academy with a straightforward belief: every student can understand math — they just need someone who can find the right way to show them. Since then, he's worked with over 100 students across Montreal and Greater Montreal, from elementary kids building number sense to high schoolers racing toward Sec 5 provincial exams.

Nero specializes in the Quebec math curriculum — CST, TS, and SN streams — and has particular experience supporting students with ADHD and dyscalculia, where a different approach, not a harder one, makes all the difference. He offers in-home sessions across Westmount, Outremont, Mont-Royal, NDG, Côte-Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Brossard, Greenfield Park, Saint-Lambert, Longueuil, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Beaconsfield, and surrounding areas — and teaches students across Canada online.

His approach blends structure with curiosity. He works from the student's actual course material, moves at their pace, and explains things in a way that sticks — not just for the next test, but for the ones after it.

“Every student has the ability to understand. Our job is to find the right way to show them.”
